Hi, I’m Sharon
I’ve been a practising naturopath and nutritionist for 14 years, after spending a similar amount of time in a corporate career, I made the switch to pursue my passion for helping people to become healthier versions of themselves.
Good health is an important part of feeling happy and motivated about life. We tend to take it for granted until something goes wrong and then wonder why or look for answers which are hard to find, or confusing if you search too long on the internet and follow too many health gurus on instagram!
My role as a degree qualified, experienced naturopath is to help you regain control of your health. This is best achieved through educating and supporting you with practical advice and tools to aid recovery and be pro-active in maintaining long term good health.
In the consultation process I assess and understand the whole health picture by taking time to review all aspects including health history, lifestyle, dietary habits, stress levels and environmental influences.
Usually I’ll recommend supplements and diet changes, if I think further investigation through testing is required we’ll discuss this in the consult.
Is is useful for you to bring any previous relevant test results, current medications or supplement details to the appointment.
My Approach
One of the underlying principles of naturopathic practice is the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal and attain better health. It can therefore be applied to almost all health conditions, acute and chronic, and to aid the prevention of disease. If you have an existing condition requiring medication, natural remedies can still be beneficial and are often used as an adjunct or to mitigate medication side effects. However, interactions between natural medicines and pharmaceutical drugs do occur so it is additionally important to seek help from a qualified practitioner before starting to take supplements.
Treatments are always based on the individual, using therapeutic dosages of herbal and nutritional medicines to restore balance to each system. I’m passionate about food, eating well and healthy ageing so lifestyle coaching is also an essential part of every consult to ensure you are motivated to make the diet and lifestyle changes required for long term health.
Corporate wellness
I also love helping to educate and inspire groups of people with presentations and practical advice. After many years working for large corporations I understand the pressures and constraints that come with office work, travel and high pressure roles.
Presentations can be tailored to your needs but common topics are -
What is a healthy diet - should I be vegan or carnivore!?
Healthy Aging
Supporting immune health and understanding the ‘microbiome’
Stress management with diet and lifestyle,
recipe creation
My passion for food and cooking started as a young teenager. This led me to England to study for my first degree in clinical nutrition and food science. After graduating I worked as a food product developer for a major UK supermarket and although I had +10 years working in non food areas I continued to develop my food skills and desire to create nutritious meals that taste great.
Healthy does not need to mean boring or tasteless food!
If you have a great product or menu idea but need help with healthy recipe creation or maximising the nutritional status get in touch to see how I could help.
